Handle identification

Evening everyone, after reading through all 200+ pages of the cult of peanut thread, I just knew I had to sign up! My question is if someone could help my identify the handle material of this peanut I picked up when i was a kid. It has some sentimental value as it was the first knife my dad let me pick out as my first "real knife" and now that he's passed, I've dug my collection out, but can't seem to find any info on this.

It looks to me like smoothe blue bone ( possibly giraffe bone ), what's the model number ?
The first digit or two will signify the handle material, the last two the pattern number.

Thanks for the heads up I'm going to keep playing with the image uploading. The digits are 6 and 1, I googled them and the 6 is apparently jigged bone, but I knew that couldn't be it. I checked out the blue giraffe bone, and that looks just like it, but I wasn't sure since I remember only paying like 30 bucks new for it way back.

I see it now and it's a 5120, on the Case website 5 should note genuine stag.

I've heard of the occasional mismatched knife, and it seems like this is what you've got.

Thanks for all the help, I figured it was something to that extent. It'll still get pocket time, I just had to know what exactly I was carrying. It's a fun little conversation piece when folks see it, and I've never been able to really tell anyone what the handle was, and that's always the first question.

I could be wrong but I think the 6 means bone in general, not just jigged bone. Your knife looks like a 1994 or 1995 model. Any chance you still have the box? Case's name for that handle type should be on the box. Looks a little bit like Appaloosa Bone. (Case's name for it. Not actual horse bone)

The folks at Case can most likely answer your question if you send them those pics. Just use the "Contact Us" page on the Case website.

I don't have the box any longer unfortunately, but I definitely will send those pictures off to them and see what they have to say. I think it was around 1998 if I remember correctly.

Your picture just loaded for me and now I can see the dots more clearly. Looks like a 1996 model.

I'm nearly certain it's Blue Appaloosa Bone but please do get a definite answer from Case.

Thanks for that, it's a lot more comprehensive than the one I was looking at, seems I was looking at the number wrong and it was a 5, not a 6, so that would make sense.
