Handle Length [ Bowie ]

Is there a standard handle length for a bowie?

The general rule of thumb is 4 1/2 inches to 5 inches...

Other than that it is what the person the knife is for likes or wants..

It is the same size as the standard hand. If your ruler doesn't have hand sizes, 5" will work. (just kidding)
It should fit the hand comfortably.It will vary from user to user and maker to maker.I lean towards larger - 5" (at least) for a bowie.

I have a 5160 bladed Bowie with a 6 1/8 handle.Opinions very but whatever suits the owner is up to them.My blade length on this one is 15 1/4.

If we're talking a full-size bowie, my view is 5" to 6" is where it ought to be.
