I just scored a custom shop AD with snakeskin handles. Are these paper micarta? They are a lot smoother than the linen micarta I'm seeing on current blades. Thanks!

(to be clear, I'm talking about this one)

looks like linen micarta to me. Most paper micarta handles came jet black. it could be canvas micarta as well. I can't tell from the pics.

I like black paper and tiger hide better, but the SS is interesting no doubt!

I do think the handle carving on the ADs is my favorite, though, for sure. Very grippy!!!

I just got my first AD. It's my new favorite. Now I want them all. :D

Nice score Mike. That thing is sweet.

EDC handles are the best, IMHO. They show off the colors of green linen, snakeskin, tiger stripe and even black canvas better than any of the other handles sizes. And yeah...the shaping is way cool!

BTW...Tiger stripe & snake skin are both canvas micarta. Striaght from Garth's mouth, errrrr email.

The EDC handles are great, even in black paper. Second from the left on top is a MrS, second from the left on bottom is an AD:

It seems like Snakeskin has more carta and less canvas in it. Or maybe it's more Mic. I forget which. But there is more resin for sure.

I'd agree with that observation, from my sample of 2 snakeskin micarta knives.

IIRC, some got a shellacin  before they left Wauseon....thus the higher gloss and smoothness.

Saw it the mostest on the OD's.....
