Handle material... walnut or G10?

I'm going to be buying a new knife (Bone Collector Axis), but I cannot decide between the G10 or Walnut. Both look great, and I like the "heft" from G10, but I also like the look of the walnut, since I don't have very many wood-handled knives in the collection. I can't commit to one or the other. Someone push me off the fence, please!

If you are going to collect, get the walnut, if plan on carrying and using, go with the g10

What he said. The walnut looks better to me but I chose the green and black G10 for my mini just because I expect it to be much more durable. They didn't carry the black G10 where I bought mine but I would have chosen the green and black anyway just because it's a little different. Either way I doubt you'll be disappointed, they're really nice knives for the money.

There's nothing wrong with G10.
But personally, I would go with the Walnut.

Yeah g10 is more durable but really are you going to beat on the handle? I prefer natural handle materials most of the time. They look nicer and develop character over time.

+1 Character
and try getting some aftermarket custom Walnut scales!
G10's no problem, but stabilized Walnut?

IMHO, if it's for your collection go w/the WALNUT HANDSDOWN, but if it's one you might carry, G-10 w/o any reservation.

I would tend to go with the walnut handle in any way... just because I prefer natural handle materials before synthetic - just feel better in hande, generally

I have g10 but my buddy has the walnut. His looks better and is a tad lighter. I'd go walnut if i did it again.

I just got a Bone Collector, 15020, this past Saturday. I had the same decision to make and I went with the blacl G-10. Even though I liked the look of the walnut, I was just afraid it might crack or chip around the areas that were grooved. There has been no evidence of this happening that I have seen, it was just a concern of mine that convinced me to go with the G10. Either way, the Bone Collector is a real winner!!

The Bone Collector lineup lends us quality knives; the 15020 and 15030 are in the same family as the popular Presidio models. I've always been a strong proponent of G-10 over 'Stabilized' wood for both durability and looks. So while some prefer wood, which is fine, either wrapped in this or G-10 these are good knives.

I've handled both, but bought the G10. The walnut just felt too light in my hands. Didn't seem "right."

I bought the wood handle on Saturday and it is my new fav knife! My buddies who work with me here on the range really like it as well. See the wood. be the wood, get the wood!

I'm looking forward to getting the knife (got a black G10 15020 for a great price, so I went that route)... I like Benchmade a lot, I like D2 steel a lot, I like the Axis lock a lot... Something tells me I'll be happy.

That's one thing I wondered about. I've found some wood handles can feel like paper, and others feel like a brick. I like my knives to feel hefty.
