Hi STR,
I'm having trouble with the wooden handle on one of my knives. As you can see from the photo the blade's handle has an oblong shape which strains the the muscles and tendons of my right ring and pinky fingers to the point that I don't think that I should use the knife anymore. (I need to have it in my grip for about an hour at a time.) This is a pity as the blade is pretty good. The knive is reportedly a Japanese chef's knife and the handle may be great for chopping and slicing but for scraping, not the case.

I don't know what can be done, any ideas? fixes?
April was a pretty good "tester".:)

I believe some contouring of the handle could maybe help with it but I can certainly give it to April to handle and get feedback from her and go from there. :D

I think she has a similar knife with a different blade shape so maybe I can get her to dig that one out and get ideas from it because she does like that one.

It goes together the same way but the shape of the blade and handle are more refined on hers.

Thanks for asking and good to hear from you again.

Thanks. Maybe I can even send a knife that I think has a functional handle and a reed so that you guys can get a sense of the grip and motions I use. Near as I can tell I get in trouble because of the opposable thumb not being able to oppose with ease, let alone get a precision grip.

Yeah, April's pretty keen. :D I'll email you about shipping plan, holidays and all.

BTW this is another one of those knives I haven't been able to tag.
