Handle on a stiff kiss

I would like to put a handle on a stiff kiss and would appreciate any suggestions as to what materials to use, what tools I would need, and any books or other sources of information. I would like to try my hand at knife making and I thought starting with making a unique handle for my stiff kiss would be a good place.
Thanks

I have only a second, so forgive the brevity:

Go to your library: I live in a small city but there are 6 books on knife making in my local public library! Those help.

You can cord wrap: do a search for the instructions.

You can add some wood or micarta. You will need epoxy (not 5 minute epoxy, if that is possible) andsome handle material and sand paper. Dymondwood, although revolting to many knife makers, is cheap and easy to polish. Anyways, take your knife to a hobby shop and find some pin material that fits the hole.

Thats All I have time for right now. Good luck. I'm sure others can help you where I left off!

I have handled 2 crkt neck pecks with diamond wood scales. You can get them from atlanta cutlery for about $3.95 a pair and the selection is good. Or you might try www.jantzsupply.com ,I found the devcon 30 minute epoxy at wall mart cheaper than the knife supply places. You could probably file down the handles manually but if you had a belt sander , you would be ahead of the game. You need some 320 to 400 sandpaper and then some way to polish it out. Hope this helped--
