I am about to attempt my first knife "making" adventure with an Alabama Damascus blank and was wondering what handle pins are the easiest and most simple way to go. Also if you have any experience with Alabama Damascus and could give me your opinions that would be appreciated. Thank you!

I would think that brass would be the easiest pin material to work with as it is reasonably soft.

Another option would be screws and posts. They do the same job as pins but can be installed and removed at will. Of course they won't have a "classic" look to them because they are screws.

Screws are the hardest to mess up in my opinion, but just jamming a brass pin in there is definitely the simplest concept.
I would suggest using brass pins and also coating the handle scales in epoxy on the contacting side.
As far as Alabama Damascus goes, just make sure the tang is flat and free of fingerprints or dirt or really anything at all when you attach the scales, or you might have a rust problem or some small areas where water can get in.
