Handle Play on Meerkat -- Anybody Else?

Love my little Meerkat, but I noticed a few days ago that the movable scale (the one you push to close the blade) has a little play in it when the blade is fully closed. Is this simply normal wear on the Phantom Lock, or is this something that Spyderco can fix?

Mine doesn't have that problem, but I only got it this summer, so I can't tell you if it's due to wear. If it isn't normal though, spyderco will take good care of you. No worries.

I have 2 Meerkats 1 in the AUS-6 and 1 in the 440C, The former has some slight scale movement when closed, the latter don't, altho it might be a little annoying, but it will hurt absolutely nothing, it's just the nature of the design of the phantom lock.

I love the fact that I can just depress the scale and flick open the blade using gravity.

My Meercat is rock solid. You may want to consider sending back to Spyderco to see if there is a problem with it.
