This might be a dumb question but I had a rc 3 in the d2 steel with like canvas handle scales and now i have a rc 4 with the linen handle scales is there a way i can get rc 4 scales in the same canvas that was on my rc 3.

i believe you are confusing the lines.... sounds like you have an ontario RAT-3 and not an RC-3 or 4. If the blade is marked ROWEN then it is a RC. i don't own them. but you can track down a knife customizer... it will be a bit spendy... or you could see what ontario will do about it....or make your own slabs.

Exactly right. RAT Cutlery blades are in 1095 steel only and have ROWEN marked on the blade. Contact Ontario about some new slabs or order slab blanks online and make them yourself.

I don't recall the D2 Ontario versions coming with canvas scales.

This whole thing is pretty simple. If it' says Rowen on the blade, it's made by Rowen. If it's says Ontario on the blade, it's made by Ontario.

I am sorry for being misleading or if i worded my question strangely. I currently have an rc 4 and I USED to have an Ontario Rat 3 that had those scales. My question is weather or not I can buy different handle scales in that canvas micarta ( for my RC 4) through RC or would I have to check through Ontario

Ontario wouldn't make scales for any RC knife, as the companies do not work together, and aren't really affiliated, other than the designs of the Ontario RAT line.

The Tan RC4 comes with the canvas handles. I've talked to both companies, neither sells handle slabs alone.

We are indeed affiliated because Ontario makes the Ontario RAT line that we designed, but the Ontario knives are named RAT and RAT Cutlery knives are named RC.

First of all, none of the RC handles will fit an Ontario knife because they are completely different handle lengths and different knives. Simple. I don't know where people come up with the idea these are somehow the same knife. The Ontario model is named RAT, the RAT Cutlery models are all named RC. Simple. The only ONTARIO RAT 3 that came with canvas micarta from Ontario that I recall was a 1095 model, not a D2 model. But again, this has NOTHING to do with RAT Cutlery. Totally different knives. Why would you go to Ontario to seek parts for a RAT Cutlery knife? Why not go to Swamp RAT since they also use the name RAT? Not trying to be a horse's ass here but I don't see how anyone can get confused on two different knives from two different companies with two different names. Lastly, as has been posted here numerous times, we do not sell handle slabs for any RAT Cutlery knife since we marry a set of handles to a knife during production. If we sold a replacement set then they may not fit your knife exactly.

this was all i needed. My question was not weather Ontario or RC were the same or made the same knife or anything like that I just had a question on weather or not RC sold canvas micarta handle slabs ( similar to the ones that were on Ontario Rat 3) or not. A yes or no would have been fine

But you stated in your first post that you had an RC3 in D2 and there has NEVER been such an animal. And without proper explanation your post serves to confuse people.
