HELP.,need to replace the ironwood handle on my sportsmans bowie.,If anyone knows of a reliable craftsman who could handle this please get in touch.,thanks!!

Forgot to mention.,Spoke too Gary, and he told me they still are not replaceing handles,s I'm up a serious creek.,

I don't know anyone who will replace it with a Randall-style handle, though I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who could. Maybe someone else here has some bright ideas.

If it were me, I'd consider having Jim Behring of Treeman Knives put one of his Scagel-style handles on it. I've seen him do this with quite a few Randalls, and it sure does look pretty. It'll set you back somewhere in the neighborhood of $200.

Thanks for the reply.,Jim Behrings handles are hard to miss!.,Kind of like a #25,you just know what it is.,The Sportsmans is one of a complete Randall Bowie collection that has taken me 17 years to build.,The handles are all Ironwood, with fluted flanged butts, and collars.,They are beautiful,as a collection, and i would like to keep the same style, and wood,as it is a matching set.,By the way.,Its good to see another NRA member.,Now,more than ever,we need to stand up and be counted.,

Sounds like you have a really nice collection. It's a bummer that the wood cracked on this one, but unfortunately it does happen. You pay your money, you take your chances. Hopefully someone will come along who has some other ideas on re-handling it.

Thanks for the kind words about the NRA. Obviously (since I paid a pile of money for Benefactor membership), it's an extremely important thing to me too. I am constantly shaking my head in disbelief at the gazillions of gun- and knife-owners out there who just don't seem to think joining the NRA is important. But that's another post for another day.

Good luck and I hope things work out for you with your knife.
