Handle Scale Swap

I have a RP-RC-3 and would like the same color of scales my RC-6 has. with that said I've heard many times that the handle scales are fitted to each RAT knife. I'm at a loss here, how do they fit each set of scales without sanding off the powder coat? Do they fit the scales then powder coat, then find the scales they fit to the knife earlier allowing for the powder coat thickness? I assume that all RAT knives start out as a laser cut knife blank. If laser cut would they all not be with in a very close tolerance? I say that because a lot of members here swap the scales not only between knives of the same model but also between different models. How is the new Izula scales going to work with out being custom fit?

It took a bit of wiggling. you can see they don't fit exactly if you look close.
The only real option is to have both and try it. I doubt that will ever change

That heat treat video is insane. Bacon, pixies, or both have to be involved.

They probably do it before the powder coat. Could be just a router with a ball bearing tipped flush trim.

Mmmm, Bacon pixies.

from what I have seen all the scales will fit, they may not fit to the one millionth of an inch that rat tolerates but they fit either way.
