Was looking into ordering a Buck 110 from the custom shop and was interested in the blue wood handles.

Does anyone know what specific wood the handles are made from? Bucks site gives little information.

AFAIK it’s died birch laminate. Really good handle material, it’s epoxy impregnated. It used to be called Indigo but the color varied so much they had to start calling it just blue. It ranges from almost black to a sliver blue. These are the c&c ones I think the custom shop uses the same stuff

they're dymondwood
eta: oops - you said custom shop, I was thinking of the C&C exclusives.
eta II: just looked, I'll stick with dymondwood...which, as eveled stated is typically birch laminate

Not to steer you away from the custom shop; but depending on what features you want/like, it might be worth looking at the C&C version.

Agree. Dymondwood

Dymondwood is made of phenolic resin impregnated wood veneers that have been laminated and compressed. It serves as an excellent material for knifemaking due to its strength and stability.
