What is the grip width of the 4max scout? I have a voyager large and I like the width of this knife and would not mind something a little wider.

Also I would like to know the handle width of the AD10. This is not listed on the CS website

Your title mentions thickness but your two posts mention width. Which dimension are you after?

BladeHQ's listing for the AD-10 has both measurements, 1.125" wide and 0.59" thick. (Their Scout listing has neither.)

I'm now in the same place as my 4-Max Scout. ;) The handle is 5/8" thick. Width-wise, it's 1" at the center of the finger choil, and about 1 1/8" for most of the grip area.

It's strikingly similar to my XL Voyager in both dimensions, and they feel a lot alike. The 4-Max is more comfortable in my hand because of the way the grip area is shaped and because the texture is less aggressive. Hope that helps! :)

Interesting. My Large Voyager measures 19/32 (thickness?) and I really don't want anything thinner but I want a harder use edc. I am thinking the ad10 is a better choice for me as I dont see the practical advantage of the 4max that justifies the extra weight over the ad10. If i want tactical protection I carry my 6" rajah 2! Love that knife for occassional carry.

The 4-Max is a real brute, even in the land of Cold Steels. But the AD-10 is no slouch either, and it's a refined, comfy carry with a steel upgrade over your Voyager.

Just noticed the ad10 is 3.5" blade. Generally I prefer a 4" blade. I am hestant if I want to carry 10 oz 4max all the time.

I've been carrying my Scout for a few weeks in cargo shorts and hardly notice it. I carried a spyderco all stainless police for years so maybe I'm some what accustomed to some weight. It's an awesome folder for the $$ check one out. I'm going to get one for my son's birthday before the price goes all to He!!
The AD10 is a little brick but a nice smooth one and like you mentioned the blade is a little stubbier but it's still an awesome knife as well but a little more $$ so if you want the 4" blade check out the big boy or get a Recon1 in your flavor. It'll be thinner steel in the blade though and overall handle as well.
