My question is what'd I get? I know there's Spalted Maple burl. Birdseye Maple, Cocobolo, Wenge, a real nice 4.5"x4.5"x7" Thuya burl and some Myrlte with some might be Curly Myrtlewood... Any guesses on what's there? Mark Farley's going to help me cut it and identify some... One of the pieces looks like a Macassar Ebony.

Now to decide which one goes on my first knife?

They should all be pretty dry, anchor sealed and in storage since 1999 when he closed his shop.

He also had this piece of Koa 1.75"x7"x96" photo(7).JPG

and a piece of Lacewood 3"x4"x60" Alas, only so much money....lacewood.jpg

:D:D I just might get to like this knifemaking!

That is a heck of a score if the price was right!

$180 for the lot... :D:D around 9 bucks a piece..... I (Mark Farley)figured the Thuya was worth 60 bucks, so the rest would be closer to 6 bucks each piece.
Again, many thanks to Mark for advice on buying this and evaluating the Koa and Lacewood.

It looks to me like the wood was treated right.
A decent price on a good mix of wood.
It will be fun helping to cut it up and see what's there.

Here are some better pictures...
