Handle too small? What should I do?

Hey guys,
I just went out on my first outting with my khuk!! Had to say that it performed very very well and I'm loving it!! However I have a major issue. The handle is a bit small for my hands, well, quite a bit too small for my hands. The swell at the back of the handle digs into my palm like this photo

Hope you can see the photo.
Will I be able to grind off/remove the top swell using just sandpaper without any machinery? or what should I do to make it more comfortable?
I can hold the blade comfortably if I shift my whole hand up, until my pinky and ring finger sits on either side of the handle ring and my index finger is all the way at the bolster (which is what I did during the few nights I spent with it). Since this is my first khuk, I hope I'm not making a fool of myself by asking what could be a stupid question! :P
I think i'm holding it right with the middle and ring finger on either side of the handle ring.
Anyways,
thanks in advance,

Big ol' western hands can be an issue. If the handle is a bit on the small side and you find the belled out point to be a hot spot, I'd ever so slightly round it off with a file and sandpaper. That can make a word of difference. Or you could pass the blade on to someone whose hand fits it and buy a khuk with a longer handle.

Good luck:)

Being a bit of slighter guy myself, it turns out that some of the handles I own are a bit too big for me... if it interests ya and you're in the market for another one that fits you a bit better, I'm on the verge of putting up my 18" ASTK by Lachhu up for grabs.

I had a similar problem when I was testing out my Ang Khola.
All you have to do is sand off the pointy part. I used a dremel tool but I imagine a file would make short work of it.
Sand paper and some oil to smooth it out after.
