handle treatment

Hello, I guess this would be a question for Chris. I was told that the alum handle on my flash 1 has a graphite? coating or treatment. The handles look really fine, kinda dark grey. If you get the time , would you explain briefly, this coating or treatment. thanks.

we describe the color as graphite. It is actually a hard anodized coated aluminum.
