Handle wear on SnG CCs

I have notice recently that a few SnG CCs and regular SnGs that I have looked into purchasing on the secondary market have had some handle wear. The Black G10 in particular seems to get white speckles after a bit of use. Someone mentioned that it is from the sweat in one's hands reacting with the material.

Has anyone had this problem with their own knife? I was considering getting a news one but if this is a problem I might have to rethink the issue.

Thanks.

wd40 is the solution.

it is also the recommended cleaning solvent for your knife, in general, as supported by Strider. if you are really concerned with hygiene of the knife, you can (again, as supported by strider) clean the whole thing with brake cleaner.

that is not handle wear.

its just a discoloration from the milling process. as mentioned, a little oil (i use mineral oil) will blacken the scales.

or i suppose on a used knife it could be salt residue from sweat.

either way, an easy fix.

I've had marks like that on other knives. Not sure what the cause of it is, but it's never been something that I couldn't wash off. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
