Hello,
I hope someone can help me. I recently got my first Lionsteel, an SR-1a, red, a gift from a gal, and i absolutely love the knife. I have large hands, and the knife fits me extremely well, (despite the flared clip, which is my main criticism.)
Anyhow, i am an avid hiker and outdoorsman, and am looking at the M3. I love the design, and Niolox steel intrigues me. But i have large hands, and many 4" knives are uncomfortable. The Fallkniven F-1 & H-1's are too skinny, and the Bark River Bravo & Aurora is too skinny and too narrow. the ESEE's are far too skinny, and i hate choils on small knives.
The Cold Steel Master Hunter comes close, and the best so far is a $15 Mora Companion HD!
But after handling the SR-1a, ( which has already seen much use,) i have high hopes for the Lionsteel M3.
I find handles close to .9" or 23mm across, or greater, measured from one side of the scale to the other, are the best for me. At least 1", 26mm or more in height at the handle's tallest, is also about right.I can use them comfortably for hours, & believe me, i do use them for hours!
I really hope the Lionsteel is the right size, as the steel & design are perfect, and the quality superb.
Thank you all for your help!
P.S. I have ordered a custom Bushcraft knife with thick handle, but for hiking, want a more general purpose design, more modern materials, and more corrosion resistance. The gorgeous drop point and Niolox would be wonderful!
