Purchased this excellent PD here on the forum as Desert Ironwood. After showing her and seeing some other examples, thinking its not DI. Can someone help me narrow it down?
Thank you for any assistance.

I had a CS MSE with what appeared to be the same wood but dyed a different color. Looks very much like oak to me.

Nice handle. Does not look like Desert Ironwood (DI). One of my favorite handle woods. DI can vary a lot though. To many open pores and grain is wrong for DI. Looks a lot like the “curly red zebra wood” Case used. Search for that one and compare.

Usually the Wooddatabase website is helpful, but he does not have enough photos of DI and nothing on red zebrawood, which is a pretty rare wood. I have one piece.

Many thanks all. Still not sure the zebra looks very close with alot of pores in between stripes. The DI pick seems cleaner in between stripes.
I will continue to investigate. And hear any and all information on these grips. Thank you all again!

Curly oak eh.

I'm not a huge wood handle fan....I have exactly 0 knives with wood handles.

That sure is pretty and I really like the grain. I would make an exception to the to the wood rejection in this case.

My favorite Busse handle is on a CS cut-down SFNO I bought from Jerry at Blade 08'; I think the wooden handles give the knives more character and individuality.:)
