Do you know the type of wood?

Near the edges, it sort of reminds me of mahogany… with such a tight/straight grain.

Second that, looks like Austalian Lacewood to me. Beautiful, but a beast to work with.

Lacewood is correct .
It's very hard, makes nice handles. But when working it, making it, prepare to get lots of tiny splinters.... until it's sanded. Then it's nice
