I am just curious, what is the feeling here about good looking camo handles on your favorite "fixed blade" hunting or outdoor knife ?

I prefer camo, even though I know if I drop it it's probably gone, how about you ?

I prefer black handles, but I have lost many knives, and the only one that I have kept for 20+ years has a blaze orange handle...

I also like micarta black or green although I like stainless handles as well they're so...clean looking IMHO

I think black handles are good looking.
I think orange handles are ugly but they are useful because they are easier to find if dropped. Good for emergency kits for those times when you cannot afford to lose a knife.
To me, camo handles don't look good and as you point out, they are not made to be seen.

I would choose anything but camo for a knife handle for me.
But, if you like it, go for it. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I think blaze orange makes for a cool knife handle because it looks so different.
I just saw a collection of big choppers with one Ranger with a blaze handle and it really stuck out.

I, for one, don't like camo anything. A great looking wood floats my boat first, after that a variety of Micarta flavors is ok.

Had all the camo I wanted in the military.:)

I would love to see handles in dark color. Camo is ugly, black is too common and bright colors are too flashy for me.

Dark red or blue handles will be great.

Didn't even notice you were from another country until you posted the above. Your English is fine!

Back to the thread. Most camo handles are pretty cheesy camo. It is that much harder to match the camo you might have as well. The color doesn't matter to much to me depending on how well it is done. I have black, blue, green, yellow, orange, red and even pink  handles. Then again, I have seen handles in all those colors I wouldn't touch with your wallet much less my wallet. So in the end, it depends on the individual shade/material used and how well the whole package was put together.

I've got blue G10 slabs on my Ranger RD4 Custom. I absolutely love them! All the rest of my blades are black or green micarta or ResC (but I have a black/blue G10 Busse CGFBM Battle Mistress on the way!).

I really like black linen Micarta or green and the tan colours I've seen, and camo's nice too but I have to be practical, and I want to find my steel when I put it down or drop it or fall and lose it, so I had to go with bright colours and I saw this on a thread here and thought; "Shweeeet!" I can't complain...

i work a large "homestead" type property. in the last year i lost 3 knives even though i thought i knew where i put them down and searched repeatedly for them. i have a hinderer xm 18 on order with orange handle because inevitably i will put it down on the ground somewhere when my mind is thinking about something else and the orange should make it easier to spot.
it "hurts" when you loose a good knife that feels like your "buddy".

I always thought that [camo handles] we're the stupidest thing ever. If you're out in the woods and you drop it, you just lost your knife.

I've recently come to appreciate the really bright yellow and orange handles on fixed blades. An orange mora is higher on my list than a standard one for this reason. Brightly-colored lanyards on knives can also help. I have some cord that is blaze orange, but also has reflective-tape strands woven in it. It'd help locate a dropped knife of any color.

I love bright colored handles , hard to loose , easy to identify . Neon slime green , or pink G10 would be the bomb .

I like black handles on military-type knives, Nice wood on more high end knives, and International Orange Bright Red, or Brilliant yellow for users

I'm with Dantor on this one. Thanks to his Ranger, I ordered a RD6 last week from Justin, and had orange G-10 handles added. It came out sweeeeeeet! I have to get a camera to get some pics of it. Same as Dantors, but shorter, and I opted to stay with the black coating.

I like orange because it's harder to lose. (And I think it looks good :D )

I like wood for fixed blades like this desert ironwood knife Brian Goode made for me.
