Hi guys - I wear 2XL size gloves. I often find when doing extended 'bushcrafty' carving tasks that my hand gets tired from using smaller handle knives. I'm looking for fixed blade knives that have a handle close to 1" thick, or slightly under that. (Thickness seems to be the most critical factor for me in a handle.) A handle width of about 1 1/4" or so, and length of 4 1/2- 5" is desired. Oval cross section is also wanted. Blade length around 4". - -
Does anyone know of an off the shelf production fixed blade that meets these requirements? I have several knives by customer makers that hit these dimensions, but haven't found a production knife like this.

BTW - I have lots of other knives with smaller handles. They work fine for me in tasks other than when doing lots of bushcraft carving.

Thanks in advance for your comments-

Beckers have larger handles than most and feel great in my hand I wear XL gloves. I should add that the larger models have the bigger handles ... their smaller and "tweener" knives don't have the bigger handles.

LT Wright GNS WITH LINERS ... the liners made quite a difference ... I think on most of their models the liners add girth ... you may look at there offerings ... and they are some of my favorite bushcrafting knives.

Talk to one of the makers about getting one of their models made to fit.
If you want to stick with production, check out the Bradford Guardian 4. Doesn't quite hit the numbers; but you might find that the shape/thickness works for you.

I sound like a broken record, since I have mentioned this knife on 2 or 3 other threads... can't beat the quality for the low price, and the handle is good for xl hands, and easy enough to wrap leather or hockey/tennis grip if you like those sorts of materials

Terävä Jääkäripuukko - choose the 4.33" or 5.5" blade, same price, great 80crv2 carbon steel

The GNS by LT Wright with liners sure hit the spot in the handle department for me(2XL gloves) !!

I bought a Tope Recon from bark river, my best handle ever, just slightly behind a Bravo 2. I sure hope the Tope Recon will come in a larger and smaller version in the future. The Blade is BA too!

I have very large hands.(I typically can't find gloves big enough locally) I have purchased some Becker's, and made some handles myself. Don't know if it's something you would be interested in, but it's been a lot of fun so far. The buck paklite series is one I'm working on right now. I have been using an old scroll saw, a belt sander and hand tools. You could do it without power tools, use a coping saw instead of the scroll saw.

I own two of the 140s. Excellent field knife. One of my favorites. But for me, the handle is too thin for extended bushcrafting carving tasks. (Of course, I’d use a 110 for that rather than the 140, but the handles are the same.)

Big handles.... Blackjack classic knives and Beckers. I suspect some Randall's would as well.

In particular, look at the Blackjack 125.

I guess wrapping it with leather or hockey grip is not an option? I find it works nice for real work/heavy use blades...

...otherwise, I think you're right, a 4" blade with a large handle is next to impossible to find... you'd need to get in the 5+ range like this schrade 42, and even that might not be enough for 2xl
