Take a look at the Tigerstripe handles on the FBMLE on the BC website. They are a deep, shiny color - not anything like the handles on my Busse's, which are not shiny at all. The handles in the pic seem to have retained the 'ridges and valleys' for good grip, but the surface itself seems to have been polished up somehow. Any idea how to get them looking like that? Comments from the Hogs?

maybe they have been buffed or something, thay sure are shiny though. i keep oil on mine for a shinier look.

Oil your handles, that will make them darken and the color will come out on them.
Mineral oil will work or just about any other oil except used engine oil ;)

I hope that helps

My car very generously leaves all kinds of oil on my driveway without me even asking it to.

Thanks, guys. Seems like oiling is the way to go. I tried mineral oil (the kind sold at Bed, Bath & B to keep wooden kitchen utensils in good shape. Changed the color to a darker shade (don't know how long this will last, though) but none of the deep, shiny lustre. Methinks one will have to buff or polish to achieve that.

the pic with the shine you saw might have been lit specifically to show the sheen that oil brings out. My handles can look flat black or glossy black depending on lighting.

I've oiled the grips three times and each time the color has reverted to the original. I'm gonna sound dumb but... does oil just evaporate? Or does oil seek it's own level somewhere deep within?
