I was wondering if its possible to get new handels for my RC4. I have 2 RC4s already (identical) w/black micarta handels and dont want to buy a third RC4 just for the handels. My question is does Rat Cutlery sell the orange G10 handels? If yes, where do I go. If not, whats my alternative? .:confused: Thanks!
 
It was discussed at one point, but I believe they decided against it.

The scales are married to the knives for a perfect fit while at the factory. Since a replacement set might not fit perfectly, they didnt want to risk the mismatched knives being released onto the market by secondary sellers.


At least thats how I read it.

Either way, they dont sell the handles by themselves.

Buy another RAT. You know you want to...

I am pretty sure there are people here who can make some custom handles for you. There's a guy that made his own G10 in the photo thread, maybe you can contact him?
 
Maybe I could find someone to trade my extra brand new black/plain blade RC4 for their orange/green version (RC4). Thanks for the response guys.
 
Rumor has it that one of our dealers is taking it on himself to offer some custom handled RC stuff. Not sure who told me that. ;)
 
Why didn't you buy an Orange handle to start with? Just curious.
 
I bought the black one first, and I liked it so much that I bought a second. I did that with all my RC knives, so that I have 2 of the same, all of them. I have one new and a user. Hey, works out for both of us, right!
 
What if someone sent the knife back to the factory for replacement handles so that they could be fitted as a match ???

We thought about that but it would be costly since it changes the way we have our system set up. Handles are done on a CNC mill and the program is tweaked to fit the knife blank. We really just don't feel like we can offer our customers a decent price for doing this so we would rather bow out than have someone feel we are charging too much.
 
How about third party handles? Is there anyone out there that currently makes handles for RAT knives, so it wouldn't be a completely custom job?

How are you going to attach the handles to the Izula? Certainly possible. Can't wait to see the final pics of that one, should be really cool.

LOL :D:thumbup:, I can use a knife, doesnt mean I can make one. I will get a third from twowolves, they sell just knives. Thanks anyway. I dropped mine in a wooded area (I was cutting down a fallen tree) and I could not find it for nothing!!!! Once I stopped looking for it, I stepped on it walking back and forth to the yard. I figured I could add an orange lanyard for right now. Thanks again.
