Handmade Elegance from Germany: Robert Klaas Monolith

Well done, as usual. Thanks for going over the details and history. It was nice to connect the dots with the three companies. Also, glad you commented on the contoured handles. I like that feature but would not have noticed it in pictures or video.

its good to hear some of the history of these companies. Do you hand select your solingen knives or order them online without seeing them? The reason I ask is that I ordered two of the snakewood monoliths a while back and neither of them were nearly as nice in terms of Fit and Finish as the one you have in this video.

No, I didn't handpick it. Unfortunately, there are not that many brick and mortar knife stores left here in Germany where you can examine a knife before buying it.

Excellent review! I really want to get one of these but I don't know where and how much (I'm in California, US). Do you know where I can pick one up?

I have no idea. Please contact them directly here in Germany (info@robert-klaas.de) and ask them if there's a distributor in the US. They speak English, and I'm sure they would be happy to ship a Monolith directly to California. When you contact them just refer to my video and please let us know what solution Robert Klaas came up with.
