I needed to get a holiday present for a friend and wound up getting a nice handmade marble, which is beautiful.

There is a vast range available online from $5.00 to $500.00.

Anyone have a favorite REASONABLY priced maker? Looking for marbles under $50.00.

Best Regards,

I get the ones I use for kolidoscopes at an art glass plae in Dallas. About an inch and a half diameter, very nice, handmade and nowhere near $50

I was a pretty heavy marble collector years ago... One of my favorite makers is David Salazar over in Santa Cruz, even got to make one in his studio  My 1st big marble purchase was one that was made by Beetem then it went on from there and the best investment marble was one I bought for my Mom up in San Fransico back in 94' at some glass store that one was made by Dinah Hulet...
this is some of them that I sold off to help fund diabetic supplies

What does a $500 marble look like?

I saw them making marbles on an episode of Dirty Jobs, and I think they were pretty pricy ones. I don't recall exact numbers, though.

What does a $500 or $5000 dollar knife look like? To someone that doesn't collect them, it all looks like this...

You had a wonderful collection!

I have one coming from Beetem, and have recently "won" two by Rick Davis, one for $57.00 and one for about $13.00.....that law of averages I can appreciate.

The one purchased for my friend was $77.00.

For those of you who do not know what a $500.00 marble looks like....be aware that there a quite a few that easily break that price point.
