First of all, let me say that I have never owned a belt made from 550 cord. I knew that people made tons of things with it from Nalgene bottle koozies to knife lanyards. But this was a first for me. Bigjoe25 offered a giveaway a short while back, and I won. Here is a link to the original thread.
Let's get to the belt. As you can see it looks like a very standard belt. I had a choice of colors, so I stuck with a simple and subdued black and coyote tan. It's comfortable and does not appear to bunch up the way a standard leather belt does. The cord around the buckle is very tight, and has a very clean cobra stitch all the way through. The It easily accepts Teklok clips as well.
The belt is extremely solid, there is no way this thing will break at all. It does not ride up in the back what so ever, and doesn't bind up on your sides. Now, would I recommend this belt for your suit and tie job? Maybe, maybe not. However, if you hike at all, this would be the absolute best belt to take with you. Yes, a paracord bracelet is good, but this is absolutely the better way to go. Another perk is that it is fully, 100% adjustable. It grows with you
. You can snug it down or loosen it up as needed and it will not show wear as quickly as a regular leather belt would around the areas where the buckle peg locks in.
Thanks to BigJoe25 for a most excellent contest, product, and craftsmanship. If you are interested in one of these, I'd recommend it. Make sure you add 6-10" to your waist as you normally would, but this one is a bit better in the adjustability regard.
