I picked this one up off Mike Williams MS at the Troy ABS Expo a couple months ago and have used it ever since.

After the blade comes out of the quenching oil give it a good scrubbing with an oil soaked, maroon colored, Scotchbrite pad.

This knocks off nearly all of the scale from the heat treat before it has a chance to cool, harden, and baked on by tempering. The blade comes out super clean. Makes the finish grinding much easier.

Works like a charm everytime!

Not Greg, but you can get them at any Automotive Parts Supply Store. Most especially the ones that sell Automotive Paints.

The Red ones are coarse, and the Gray ones can be used for putting a nice finish on a blade.
