I actually ordered this sheath for another knife, but when it arrived I tried it out with the Handyman. I like it like this, so now I will have to order another one... It is the Allegheny pocket sheath for Knives Ship Free. It fits the Handyman perfectly and nice and snug, and the whole thing fits perfectly in the side pocket of my cargos. I've bought several knives from Derrick over the last several years and have always gotten excellent service. This last purchase, even though for much less than usual expense, was treated no differently.

I do have to admit that with this particular knife, I'd like to have a sheath the same style and dimensions, but a bit less plain, maybe with some nice tooling. I may have to get back into making my own sheaths again when I have time.

Great info Brian! Thank you. I will definitely have to try this set up myself. I EDC the same way, in the same pocket with Carhartt pants at work but I can't carry my Hiking Buddy there. (too large for work) While camping my Hiking Buddy goes on my belt or in a JouFuu front pocket sheath. This is another great option.

Can you edc a smaller fixed blade at work? Or folder only?

Yes I just keep them under 6" OAL. I'm always looking for carry options for my Hiking Buddy. I simply didn't think about the Allegheny. :o

We had to do a hell trip over to my parents place to pick up the old piano for Lily. She just started taking piano lessons. Cody had never gotten to see the place and he is a strapping young lad, so during the down minutes, we got to hike around the property. I had my Handyman on me! Woot!

It is a terrific looking knife, seems like a perfect size for an all around edc. Hope to get one one day.

The piano lessons, other than the hauling of said piano, are a lot better than drum lessons :) I used to work for a moving company that specialized in moving pianos, you have my sympathy.

I've got to try one of these Handymans!

I think the Handyman is a great size and shape. Barely a bit bigger than the Hiking Buddy, but the handle shape gives me more control of the blade.

I am really looking forward to trying the Handyman as well. There are a couple great reviews that have me very intrigued. The Hiking Buddy, however, is my hands down favorite Fiddleback and my favorite knife in that size. I never need a reason to buy a Fiddleback but I will admit it's difficult to justify a Handyman purchase at this moment. Imagine owning a couple of Porsches and thinking ... I need a new sports car. :D

I think that is an unfair analogy Dave, there are few sports cars that have better handling than a Porsche ;)
