Gentlemen,

An old German axe head followed me home. My Google research into the touch mark reveals it to be a Peter Wallbrecher. It's just shy of 3 #, and I am hoping to hang it on a 32" handle. The challenge that I am running into is the size and shape of the eye. The eye is "D" shaped with the flat part of the D at the poll. It is 1 and 1/16" x 2 and 3/16".

I've hung a few axes, but am having a hard time finding a curved handle that has a large enough eye end for this axe. The only thing that I can find are straight maul handles. Liam Hoffman's offerings are as big as I can find, but that's only 1"x 2 and 5/8".

I don't think I am cut out for carving my own. Does anyone know of a source for curved handles that would fit this? Or am I stuck with hanging it on a straight handle?

Thanks, and Happy New Year!

Ochsenkopf might be worth an inquiry.
