For those of you that have read the latest Thomas Harris novel "Hannibal" (sequel to "Silence of the Lambs", the lead character, Hannibal Lecktor does some quick dispatch with a Harpy. Simply portrays the wickedness of that blade style.

Nothing like putting a distinctive knife in the hands of an evil and maniacal fictional character to get the style banned in my country. Let's hope that, if the book goes to a movie, they change it to a kitchen knife.
Hollywood killed semiauto rifles and pump action shotguns not long back. Of course, auto openers and gravity knives are long-gone.
I had a double-edged Ek confiscated by Customs, last year and you can forget push daggers.

I had no shoes and wept...until I met a man who had no feet. Cheapest pair of shoes I ever bought.

Hannibal had alot of nerve doing that! Considering Sal designed it for slicing grapefruit.

The Media can cause havoc with a good thing sometimes... it's a shame.

Is it an illusion, or is the blade on that Merlin twisted counterclockwise out of the handle?

Good one ,James....that's the sort of image of our chosen TOOLs I like to see.
Why don't you make yourself available as a Hollywood knife consultant ?
Now, THERE's an idea....why doesnt AKTI employ infiltrators to work in the media on our behalf ?

Wow...

Somebody should take a picture of Hannibal's cranial saw among some honeydews to go with the above pic.

Or maybe slicing some cheese with his Civilian.

Oh, anybody that missed an earlier thread on the topic of Hannibal and his penchant for Spyderco knives missed out. Seems as tho Sal doesn't seem too fond of his product's use in the book (and I can see his concern, especially since when Spydies are used in books, movies, or t.v., it seems to be "the bad guy" while our hero is religated to a swiss army spoon).

To be honest, the fact that Dr. Lechter bought a Civilian in the book solidified my decision to buy one for myself. Sorry Sal!
