About two years ago, I accepted delivery from Don Hanson on this wickedly sleek fighter. We called it 'Sinistre' due to it's foreign flavor and it's attitude.
Alas, it was yearning for a sheath that would do it justice. I know just such a sheathmaker...
Dave Abramson, AKA 'Lifter'. Dave and I have been friends for years, and he offered to make me a sheath to my liking
Dave: "What was I looking for?"
Me: "I want a sheath that would allow this knife to sit on a desk neatly. No floppy belt loop. As if it was for a dignitary, and this was a visual deterrent in case diplomacy got anxious."
Dave: "Got it. I suggest a stud or frog for a belt, just in case it needs to go on the run. I have some stingray skin we could use as an inlay, and some shark skin to use as the overlay..."
Me: "Use your judgement. You are the artist today."
Well, you can see the result, and I couldn't be more pleased. Worth a second look for many, and a first look with the sheath!
