Don and I had talked about this and I placed my order, ohhhh, about a year ago. Soon after he completed my 'Clack Factor' tactical.

Those who know me, know I like ivory micarta; OLD antique ivory micarta. It is an industrial material and the original stuff is rare to encounter. Don had acquired a small stash. It had darkened with age.

He crafted a knife with my preferences and, he kept the top darkened layer notable.

First off, the 'Pirate' folder of his, with it's cutlass blade shape is one of my faves. The knife looks great whether it's open or closed (a particular fondness of mine).

That hamon is spewing flames.

He's brewed up some new 'goblin' damascus for the bolsters, and if it could scream, it would shreek: AAAaarrrggh!

There is a little extra treat at the thumbstud. Check it out....

Thanks Don, for the nice surprise delivery this week!

WOW...I don't normally get too excited over fancier knives, but that is truly a work of art....

Really nice Coop and Don! The micarta looks great with the darkened layer in tact. The liners make it pop, as does the detail in the thumbstud. Especially like the way the damascus is flowing on the spine and then tightens up at the butt.

Flaming hamon is my favorite and this batch of scary damascus is great. I like the mix of scary stuff and the style of the crusader shield looking sections. Niiiiiice:thumbup:

Well, now you have to pull out all the other "lipsticked micarta's" and do a new family portrait.. I would put this one up front, in the first row, center.. Rich

Ho my goodness--that's just fabuliscious. Gorgeous, gorgeous lines, execution, materials and images.

You ordered that a year ago and it showed up already? I'm getting excited...:D

Congratulations Coop!

Beautiful knife, crystal clear photography... Superlative work by both of you. Congratulations.

is that an opal in the thumb stud?
Killer knife, killer photograph. You two make quite the team.

Extremely awesome new addition, Coop. Don did a great job - he doesn't really know how to do otherwise.

Coop,

Congratulations on a great knife.

I was lucky enough to pick up one of Don's "Pirate Folders" last year at Jerry Fisk's. It is a great blade shape.

As usual super photos.

Don is the man. Coop I love how your repeating your theme in many of the knives you've been ordering. I also always liked the Crawford style red liner in knives. Or is that originally Loveless? The repeating pattern on the thumb stud is cool!

Nice knife.

Great images, Coop!!! Always a pleasure working with ya man!

This was a fun project and it was very good to surprise Coop the other day. :D

Thanks for all the good words folks!

Everybody...quick... buy any available micarta....DH III is buying and hoarding this stuff besides blue mammoth, fossil walrus. Soon...there will be nothing available.

Man, Coop, the micarta group grows! Don's Pirate Folder is a great design, and a wonderful addition to your collection. Don pulled it off with style, as your great images show. Love that hamon!

This must've inspired me yesterday; we watched 'Pirates of the Caribbean - The Treasure Chest' last night, on the advice of my son.

Lolz! 'Hoarding micarta'! I hear ya'. :)

Thanks, guys. Thanks, Don.
