Here's 3 new sheaths I received this week from Vadim of Vess LeatherWorks (www.vessleatherworks.com). Here's some info from Vadim:

"The fronts are all lined, the backs I cut from a brand new 9oz side which is, grade 1/A/standard (as opposed to utility and economy grades), the best possible leather from Wickett&Craig Tannery in the States. So it is silky smooth, finished with acrylyc based finish which actually polishes to a smooth plastic-like surface which won't do a thing even to the most sensitive scales. Material-wise this is the best of the best."

The Hanson Trapper sheath is medium brown with Toad Skin inlay. The Tomes is black with a Rattlesnake inlay/ The Elishewitz is a low horizontal carry (cross draw) black with matte Stingray inlays.

Thanks again Vadim. Amazing work! My pictures do not do these justice. I was excited to get these up though will have to take some outdoor pics once the weather here gets better.

Real classy work. The sheaths are as fine as the knives. Nice to see the effort made.

Thanks for showing us. Congrats on them!

Thank you all for your comments. I'm happy everyone is enjoying the pics!

It's nice to hear the sheaths match the knives well. I did put some thought into what I wanted.

The Hanson trapper sheath works perfectly in my opinion with the stag scales. Vadim has a Mnandi sheath which is identical on his site. The toad inlay is a very nice compliment to the leather and adds contrast without being too flashy ... the knife is the star here!

The Tomes is the one I was a little unsure of when I ordered. The Rattlesnake is great with the creme mammoth ivory as it picks up on the creme coloring within the scales. I think this would look equally as nice if not better in brown leather.

The Elishewitz was made to be subdued. I wanted black on black so the Stingray seemed like a good fit. Check out the Elishewitz damascus/stingray folder on Mr. Barr's site Custom Knives ... this is what made my choice. I like the matte finish as it's not as shiny so remains subdued but adds some contrast and character.

These amazing knives deserved a great sheath and that's exactly what Vadim delivered.

Can you tell I'm happy with the product???:D

Gorgeous!

I wish there were more quality sheathmakers or their customers that showed the handiwork as you did. It seems they ratio of custom blade makers to talented sheath makers is out of proportion on the whole.

Thank you for the look see. :D
