I love Katana, i know very little about katana in this price range ($500-$700)

Can someone who is a bit more of an expert than me tell me if this is a competent weapon for a relative noob?

You can get the Tiger Elite for not a lot more, and that's one of their best options out there. Just a thought.

I agree...however....both are very good cutters...so the few hundred dollars difference may not be justified for everyone.

I personally feel that because the Tiger Elite is forge/folded it has more attention to detail, better balance and more attractive features.

CAS Hanwei does an absolutely fantastic job with the swords at this level, and they are all absolutely ready to cut/compete with provided that you know the weight, length and handle length that you are looking for....and of course, each sword must be thoroughly QC'd by the purchaser.

Thanks guys. I was considering picking one up in trade, but it looks like that window has passed.

I'm not really a cutter, so i don't know that i NEED one, but i'm a blade enthusiast, so it seemed like something i might like.

Chances are it would live on a wall, since i have my Busses for ZA-day
