I just looked these knives up after reading about them in the new tactical knives issue. They look pretty cool, like something a soldier fighting in WW1 or WW2 would carry with him. To me it looks like good quality, but you can't be sure you know?

Does anybody have any experience with these knives? If not, what about other hanwei knives? I've never heard of them before but they look like they have some great stuff.

You can do a search here, there are a few threads on them.
Basically, made in China, and we are not sure what the composition of HWS steel is. For $50 I might take a chance on one....they are $100 here in Canada presently.

I have a Saguaro folder that I picked up about a week ago. Workmanship and fit and finish are good. The knife was sharp out of the box. I think it compares favorably to other knives in the same price range. I haven't used it enough to tell how well the steel will hold an edge.
