Quite the week around here :)

Three ring circus's , non stop action, biffin people upside the head. What more could you ask of a forum. :D

Gonna be pretty warm this w/e. Not sure what I might get done.

Everybody have a safe and happy 4th of July w/e. Remember our fighting men and women in your prayers and positive thoughts.

Mark

Not alot going on for me. I'm off Sun. nite for the holiday. We're going to watch fireworks that nite. Just trying to keep cool during this rotten season called summer. I hate it. :grumpy:

The damn power was out at my house from 7 'till 11 last night. :grumpy: (sorry, had to do a little mini-rant on that one.)

I'm going to be doing some forging, grinding, sanding, and everything in between. ;)

Got to catch up on orders so I can start working on that "bullwhip" project. :)

Don't forget to take some time this weekend to remember what you're celebrating.

I'm frying fish for 12-15 people at noon today and then saturday morning shop time, off the ks fro the rest of the weekend , at my folks.Moving my Daughter up to KS for a while also.
I'll be glad to get back work :p

Work tomorrow, work at home Sunday on the pool, probably meet some friends Monday and then home Monday night for some burgers and hot dogs. Nothing better than a burger grilled over charcoal, on a sourdough bun, with hot pepper cheese, mayo, horseradish, vidalia onions, ketchup and bread and butter pickle slices. Insert Homer drool now...

Yes, I am single at the moment :D

Oh yeah, was going up to Franklin Mint in Lancaster with a friend of mine to pick up his "shipment" (big time collector). He's a bit leery of all of the supposed Live 8 overflow.

Cleaning up 4 knives that I ground this week, gluing up & finishing one other one, making a sheath for a customer whose patience knows no limits and working on my folder. Having a precision slip fit works great, having a worn out 3/16" reamer that doesn't quite round the hole out enough means I'm spending more time working the folder apart when I need to separate the scales than actually doing anything tangible on it!

Other than that I hope to get drunk enough to go blind at least once. Gotta clear some room in my brain for all this new metallurgy mumbo jumbo! :D

Moving this weekend, doubt I get much sleep :( but on a nice note, I went and looked a power hammer last night, now to pay for it...;)

Some shop time this weekend. A couple of orders to pop out. Got to do something to get some $ for that new mill. Not even sure where I'm going to put it.

Riding the opportunity of this month of medication-induced wellbeing, I'm working on getting my shop revitalized. It has been very enjoyable, even if it's mostly just cleaning and re-arranging.

I get to play a little with melting glass around mandrels making beads on the setup I got fired up for my wife in my shop yesterday. That's sorta fun.

Cookout with close friends on Monday.

That makes for a great weekend. Hope yours is wonderful.....

Missus H has been in the Carribean for the last week and comes home on Monday. I plan on having the house super-clean, all the laundry done, and the yard mowed. After my son and I going on a huge bender all week and trashing the house, I think that there will be peace in the valley if she comes home to a clean house. Atonement.

If I get all that done, I'll be making some brisket out in the pit and drinking a couple beers.

After I put together yet another baby crib....... I'll be finishing up four knives for my Ranger Buddies in 3d Battalion. I wouldn't sell em knives while I was in the unit, but now it's on! After that I think I'll read some of metallurgy info in the "O1" thread, so as not to be bashed when I have a heat treating question!! I must admit, most of that reading is going over my head so far.

Oh yeah, I'll also be mailing out my check to the Bob Horrigan Memorial Fund, I hope you all are doing the same!

Editing to remove remark to Whit. My misunderstanding.

I was trying to make a large point on that thread about what a knifemaker should feel obligated to know if they're going to sell knives. I feel my points are valid, but others' mileage may vary.

Sorry, Mark. Back to "happy Friday."

I'm going out to the shop after dusk to see if I can squeeze out the end cut of a billet and get a respectable fighter or light Bowie out of it.

Too hot to mess with it this afternoon.

SETTIN FIRE TO THE 29 GROSS, YES I SAID 29 GROSS, OF THE REGULAR AND WHISTLING MOON TRAVELER BOTTLE ROCKETS I BOUGHT TODAY!!! :D :D :D :D
I made a bottle rocket launcher that lets me shoot off as many as a gross at a time, lol, what a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Turns these dollar a gross rockets into quite a show.
Have a grand time everyone but most of all stay safe and God Bless!!!!!!!!!

L6, I should be able to see your display from here in Iowa! The weather has turned great here this weekend. After being hot as you know what, it's a real pleasure. Friday, my wife and I retreated to the river and caught some channel cats and some blues, then went to the movies last night and watched War Of The Worlds. My day started today at 0500, shop time today! I will be working in a nice cool shop this morning, after another cup of coffee and puting the squirrel pups outside for a while. I have a couple of 01 hunters I sawed out a couple of years ago and tossed on the to-do-later pile of grinding. I might rough grind them and send to my want-to-be maker-for-himself brother in law in MO, if I get time today. I work Mon-Thurs.of this week, which includes the holiday. One regular holiday, 2 floating holidays, and a safety day is what I will be working. It's gonna cost them dearly! Heh heh heh, double time and a half for 30 hours, and regular pay for the 4th. day,and another 10 hours of vacation added to my total vacation hours for just working my regular 4 ten hour nights.
