I know I'm a little late, but I've been enjoying my own 4th. Happy Independence Day to everyone!

It's very interesting to me to think of battles throughout history and the progression of warfare frequency. If you look at the history of the United States, in the beginning, if all or part of the colonies were involved in a confilct, it was considered a major war, got a name, and ended up in history books as "need to know". At that time, Americans weren't always fighting for our independence and freedoms. When we finally did HAVE to fight to absolutely get rid of foreign rule, establish ourselves as free people, etc., it got a name, a holiday, and is now celebrated every year by all who call themselves patriotic Americans.

4th of July, the official day of our independence.

What's important to think about is that, in this day and age, Americans fight literally every single day for our independence and freedoms. It might not feel like it now, with it not being on our own soil (all the time), but American soldiers are constantly in a fight for the freedom and independence we all love and take advantage of. If you think about it, we are now ALWAYS in a war for freedom and independence. Every battle and every engagement that happens is for our freedom, maybe not directly, but that is always the ultimate goal.

Keep that in mind, that every soldier who fights today is fighting for the same independence that those fellas in the history books fought for. They are fighting battles every day for the same freedom from foreign rule. These days, every engagement is a battle for our independence, and every time our boys and girls show some dumb bastards what time it is, it's the 4th of July.

God bless our soldiers, keep them safe, and give them the American strength to plant Uncle Sam's boot in the ass of anyone who thinks they could do a better job of running our country. This is our piece of dirt. For anyone who wants to try and take that away, there's plenty of dates left in the year to name a holiday after the lesson (AKA ass whoopin') we give you.
