i had my last cigarette 3 years ago, on feb 2. some people quit with no problems, others never seem to get it. it was tough for me. i tried many times over the years, but now i don't miss smoking at all.

to celebrate 3 years smoke free, i talked my wife into letting me order a present for myself. so i ordered a bk15, and a bk13 to ride shotgun with my 9.

i have to say, the 13 was a little underwhelming at first, but sharp as heck. the handle needs to be roughed up a bit. i think i'll get to like it more once i start using it. to be sure, it's not replacing my 11 as edc any time soon.

as for the 15, i was really looking forward to getting my mitts on this knife. i've heard nothing but good things, other than the discontinuation rumours. unfortunately, i'm going to have to wait. i don't know for how long. my package has been sent through 3 different states, crossed the border to Toronto, got held up in customs for 3 days, and is now apparently on it's way back to Miami.

i'm very disappointed. i've just emailed the seller for any information they have, but it's early.

i'm hoping for the best, and will keep you all posted. i do have some pics of the 13 i'll put up later.

Sucks about the 15! It will be worth the wait when you get it!

so my 15 finally arrived (only a few days outside the estimated delivery). according to the seller, the package tracking gets messed up for international shipments. i don't know anything about that, but here she is right out of the box:

and here's my arm after the sharpness test:

and after washing, i used her to prep lunch:

here's my helper with her favourite knife. not sure who made it:

used the 13 for the cheese. didn't want to have to scrub it out of the coating on the 15. the 13's growing on me, but the handle feels too slick. might have to rough it up a bit.

it is good for tight spaces:

and here's lunch once it was all finished:

the 15 is awesome slicey. once we get through this stupid cold snap, i plan to put her to use outside. i'll strip the blade before too long. the main reason i got it was i was sick of using my in-laws knives to help out with dinners.

Congratulations!! :nevreness:
30 years since I touched a cigarette. :barf::barf:
9 since I touched beer. :barf:

Mmmmmm, bacon........
