Nel mezzo del cammin di nostra vita mi ritrovai per una selva oscura.

Midway through the journey of our life, I found myself in a dark wood,
for I had strayed from the straight pathway to this tangled ground.
Inferno, Dante Alighieri.

OK, time to get back on the trail and party! :D

Happiest of Birthdays, O Dweller-in-the-Hollows! :p

I tried to get you a gift, but it got stuck in the vending machine ... :D and *somehow* I didn't have a khukuri with me.

...and maybe just a little extra.;)

Thanks y'all big 50 this time!

5 more years and I can retire and be on the hollow full time, barefoot, pissing in the yard and shooting guns off my porch!

Happy Birthday!!!
Email me your mailing address to himimp@aol.com and I will send you a nice Birthday gift.

I do that in your yard while you're at work. Hope you don't mind:D

Congrats on the half century mark. I have no lofty ambitions of getting out of the rat race in 25 years:(

More the merrier SG

Actually I will (hopefully) luck out. Assuming nothing bad in the next 5y:rolleyes:

Here we have a thing that when your age and years of service =80 you can retire if you are 55 or over. I have worked here since 1984 so I'm good to go on that.

Also they have a thing that for every 2 days of sick leave you have accrued at retirement, that you can get 1 month of free continued insurance coverage. I have over a year of accrued sick leave so by the time I retire Ms HD and I can have insurance till beyond when medicare would pick us up. Of course if I kick off she's screwed on that part cause she's had to use her sick leave.

Won't be any great amount I'll get but I live simply except for knivs:foot::o;):p:rolleyes:

Sad part is I just came in on the tail end of the insurance deal. All the new hires don't get it. Also they are getting ready to get rid of the 55 retirement too for new hires.

Give Big Dog a pizza for me in celebration of your reaching the half-century mark.

Lessee, five of you would reach back 250 years...so 1760?...

Five Hollowdwellers ago, America was a British colony.

huh.

Hey Wow!

Thanks for the Thapa Khukuri Yangdu!!!
:eek::thumbup::thumbup:

I've never handled one of these before. Will try to take some pics this weekend but very interesting design!

I remember years ago I was impressed by Roadrunners Gelbu Special.

It was one that had a narrow blade but the spine was 1/2" . I thought that that combination of a thick spine and narrow blade made it handle really well.

This Thapa reminds me of that knife but I'm not sure of the maker but whoever did it did a killer job on the edge. It's thin like a Bura edge and even more even!!!!:thumbup:

Damn, I'm sorry to have missed your birthday Hollowdweller! Very Happy Long Belated Birthday anyway!!!!!!!!!!!  :D :o

....

Sorry to miss your birthday. About retirement, its great absolutely. If you can take the early retirement package, grab it and don't let go of it
