Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas! Hope all is well in the land of Hoosiers. (My wife and boys are heading to Indiana today and I will follow them tomorrow.)

Thanks a bunch! Spent my 62nd birthday teaching for the last day this year. I have decided that I will retire from teaching in May, due to increasing heart problems and macular degeneration. The left eye is really bad, the right still pretty good so I can still drive for a while yet. Ten years on a second career after 28 with the gov ain't bad, and my morale is good. The pleasure of YOUR company has kept me smiling on more than one gloomy day. Yvsa and I make a pair to draw to, but my cane is more stylish than his.....I took the sledge hammer I used in Detroit for so many years, narrowed the handle down to rounded edges boken style, and then took a cue ball, drilled it to accept 1/2 inch allthread. I made the top of the sledge handle concave, and using epoxy, screwed the cue ball down tight....it's NOT coming loose :D

Years ago, there was an outlaw motorcycle gang called the Highwaymen in Detroit. In addition to putting most of the members in prison, we seized some properties...one was their clubhouse the Carriage Inn, and the cue ball is off their clubhouse table, found immediately next to the .444 Marlin they had used to shoot one of my men from an overpass a couple hours earlier.
