The wife sort of kicked me out of the house while she entertains her friends at her book club
A couple of cool things happened today. I managed to recruit this awesome new grad student to my lab who I've been negotiating with for some time. Second, as of April 1 I'm going to be the director of my research institute. This means I get to work twice as hard and not earn any more pay but can beat it over the head of my colleagues that they report to me (even though I will have no actual authority over anybody) :thumbup::thumbup:

Happy B-Day Ken...I know they don't matter much at your age but they are always a good opportunity to indulge one's self. Congrat's on the grad student and new position...nothing beats more work and responsibility for the same pay, although it's hard to put a monetary value on bragging rights
