Whoa, I hate old guy b-day parties , too much smoke in the air and wax on the cake. Takes forever to get the cards read and the packages opened. Sometimes it takes an hour to just get everyone around the table. Uh , Oh , wait that's my party !! Maybe you are a young guy,, Let's party !! Happy b-day Riff Raff !!!

Dave

Thanks, everyone!

Yep, another birfday... Still, I suppose it beats the alternative, eh? :D

Hmmm. Define "young."

Nope, I probably qualify as "old." Oh, well. You know what they say, "the older the fiddler, the sweeter the tune." (English Proverb)

Of course, they also say, "for all the advances in medicine, there is still no cure for the common birthday." (John Glenn)

Thanks again, all. :) Now, to see if I can make it another year... ;)

"My Birthday! what a difference sound
That word had in my youthful ears;
And how each time the day comes round,
Less and less white its mark appears." -- Thomas Moore

Did I miss the party?

Happy Birthday riffraff!:D
Let there be many more to come.

BTW, what knife are you going to use to cut the cake?

Happy Birthday riff. Hope you have a good one.
You add a lot to this subforum and I personally appreciate your involvement here.

Happy Birthday RR and great qoutes/proverbs. "Getting old is earned"- bartender off of the Guardian.

This occasion reminds me of a question my youngest asked me at my birthday years ago.

"Dad, were you sad when the dinosaurs died?"

Well riff, were you, I know I was.

Old? Are we old? When did that happen?

"So far, this is the oldest I've been." -- George Carlin

Speaking of George Carlin, he's done about the best treatise on age I can think of. I won't embed it here, since it's really NSFW, but of course, since it's on youtube, anyone can check it out.
