Thanks guys an gals, I nearly got through the whole day without getting sprung.
Turning 39 is quite frightening, I have started the countdown to the big 40. Jeez this sounds old. I suppose its all relative to how you feel, personaly, I don't feel a day older than 38.
I will have a bear or three tonight and have a toast to all my mates at Bladeforum.
 
Wow, I guess y'all do things different down under. Most of us in the northern hemisphere wouln't dream of celbrating our 39th bday by "having a bear". We would be afraid that we wouldn't make it to 40.

We would celebrate by drinking beer or something like that.

and just remember that you are onw getting close to middle age. I believe that it starts at 60, although I could be wrong. I'll let you know.

(My 40's were the best decade of my life so far. I'll let you know about the 50's in 10 years or so, but so far so good. So go ahead and enjoy 39. I hope your 40's are even better than mine were.)

Thanks for the kind words all of you old codgers, I am starting to feel youthful again. It could also be the bottle of 96 Cab Sav that has passed my lips.

I am waiting on my birthday present to arrive, she is due at about 11.00 pm.

Happy Birthday. I think the late 30s/early 40s are the best years. I still enjoy life at 59, but at 39 I was immortal-10 feet tall and bullet proof if you know what I mean.
