(Apology for horrible pictures ahead of time. They were taken inside at about 6am, no natural light, and an iPhone. It's a busy day. If I get some more time, I'll edit with better pictures.)

How it started. I contacted JGguns because he posted up a video of some blades he had ground out. They were only rough shaped, but I loved the design behind this one. I told him I wanted it and so we began making it mine.

I had an incredibly good experience with JGguns during the process of making this knife. This is the way all custom knifemakers should do it. JGguns went out of his way on several things with this knife and I really appreciate it. JGguns started by letting me know what materials he had on hand to work with so that I could choose myself what I wanted the knife built with. We decided on the cocobolo wood with blue g10 liners. Throughout this build, JG was contacting me everyday or every other day giving me an update on the process by word and pictures. I literally watched this knife grow up. No matter if it was as small as shaping something up, JG let me know he was doing it. Every little step he took, he'd ask me what I thought about it and if that's what I wanted. This truly is -my- knife, because JG took the time to make sure every little thing he did was exactly what I wanted. I don't want to go into details about everything, but JG is a real good guy and he will atleast try to do absolutely everything you ask for and then some. Before the knife was even done, I was already talking with JG about another one.

I spoke with JG about halfway through the process of the knife and asked if he would be interested in making up some matching cocobolo beads for a lanyard. All I asked for was the beads to be made. JG said it was no problem and even started to ask me about how or what kind of lanyard I wanted. He ended up surprising me with the bead, because I expected simple wood and he actually did a layered bead of the cocobolo and blue g10. It looks awesome.

JG let me know at first that he was rather new to knifemaking and didn't want me to expect something amazing. When I received the knife, I was shocked at the quality of it. The fit and finish was on par with some customer makers I know that have been doing it for years. JG really sells himself short on his work, because this guy is putting out some serious quality stuff. You can just tell the time and heart he put into this knife. Any scuffs you see on this knife came from me, not JG. I had it a day before I actually made this post and I just couldn't help but play around with it. The grind is very even. The edge itself isn't waved or anything. It's straight and mirror polished. The scales on this thing are amazing. Everything lines up properly. The scales fit completely flush with the spine of the blade. If you were blindfolded and ran your finger across it, you couldn't tell it was different materials pressed against each other. There are no rough spots or chips where the pins/lanyard tube were put into the scales. This knife has some serious clean lines to it. Everything is flush. JG also implemented a "groove" on the scales for placing your index finger into. It works exceptionally well. It allows you to choke up on the knife as much as possible and really locks your hand in. You can also adjust your hand to do some tip work, and your thumb just fits right into the groove for that too.

Overall, I'm very pleased with this knife and I wouldn't hesistate to do business with JGguns again. This knife was a birthday present to me from my wife and I'll always keep this thing. It's a serious hunk of steel and if you guys want a tank of an EDC, this is the knife. I'm going to let you guys know that if you see any of his blades you like, you better jump on them while you can because this guy's prices are incredible reasonable.

I want to thank you, JGguns, for this great experience and amazing knife.

Happy birthday to me.

Happy birthday mate. Persoanly by looking at the blade I would like it to be about 3mm longer and more of a clip point and then it would be perfect for me. But apart from minor nit picking it is a very nice looking knife.

Thanks a lot man! It was a pleasure making this for you and I look forward to doing buisness again.
