Happy Birthday to me!!!

So I turned 18 today, and for my birthday I got to visit the Benchmade factory in Oregon city. I gotta say, the little shop they got there is just plain awesome!! I got to check out some of the knives I've been wanting to since forever and got to talk knives a bit with the dude behind the counter. My dad even got a few new clips for his knives, and his mini grip sharpened was well. And to top my visit off, My dad and I both left with a new 320 Precinct!!! What an awesome day!!! I don't have pictures at the moment, but I'll post them when I get the chance.

That sound like a good time. I hope to visit the shop someday. What is your opinion of the Precinct? The flipper looks like it sticks out pretty far, does it catch when you pull the knife out of your pocket?
 
What a great Birthday present... My wife and I visited the factory about 4 months ago.

For my first impressions it's one of my most favorite knives due to how simple it is. The flipper doesn't really catch on anything at all, I carry in my front right pocket along with my cell phone and it doesn't get in the way at all. The g10 is similar to that of the striker and is very grippy when new. I wear a size medium in gloves, and the knife fits my hand perfectly. It also has an amazing action and is very fun to flip. I cannot wait to get it broken in and to start using it more this summer when I start working.

It was an awesome shop! It was really nice to be able to handle a lot of the knives if had some interest in, and even to flip some of the butterfly knives I've been interested in for a while. Although while I flipped them, it didn't make anything easier for me to decide as to which knife I like more. I'm really lucky to live as close as I do, and I will defiantly be visiting their shop again!!!
 
Happy Birthday ! It's always cool to get a knife for the big day - today is also my birthday, (but I've had 53 more than you), and I got myself a ESEE 3 this time around. If I'm still around next year, I'll get a Benchmade. Enjoy the heck out of the Precinct !

Yep. It is nice to see all of their knives in one place, but it does make it more difficult to decide.
You probably live closer than we do, but we are only about 160 miles from the factory. It's worth the drive for those that truly like BM products

Happy birthday!! The ESEE 3 has always looked like an awesome knife, I hope you enjoy it!!! I'm really excited about the Precinct, I fell in love with it when I first saw it. I knew I would get one, but I didn't think it would be this quick, nor that my dad and I would get a matching pair!

Thank you! We had a fun time, my dad checked out the full size grip and the loco. My mom and dad both checked out some of the smaller knives too, and I think my mom might be getting a Valet later on too.
 
Forgot to ask you earlier, did you guys hit the Cabelas while you were there ? That is a big one, and not far from BM

We did! We also went there on opening day and I gotta say their knife case wasn't what it was when it first opened, but it was alright. My parents and I walked through pretty much isle, it's a pretty nice store.
