This year marks the 100th Birthday of John Browning's famous 45 automatic pistol, the 1911. Got to be the most used and customized pistol ever. It was carried by our military heros in many conflicts. If you have any pics of 1911's, I'd love to see them. I have a Springfield 1911 that is my favorite handgun. Gotta love the 45 auto.

This is a 1911 that my Dad brought home from his time in the Air Force during Korea. He was never sent to Korea thankfuly, but he did spend a lot of time in Alaska and in the Mojave Desert. He was stationed at Eielson AFB (Alaska) and Muroc AFB (now know as Edwards AFB) and was an MP. I have a few of his old pictures and love to look at them. He passed the 1911 on to me a short while ago, he is 79 years old and can't pull the slide back anymore, so he figured it was time to pass it on!!

Scott I have a Springfield 1911 A-1.I just love my 1911.I use it for EDC and for shooting in police combat shoots. John Mosses Browning was a genius!
