This month is the 1 year anniverasry of my 1st Sebanza (party). During the past year I have carried it nearly everyday without missing a beat and it truly has become my favorite knife and for good reason. For one it's just the right size for EDC and weight is lite and easy on the pockets even in shorts. It's also a great performer, holds a edge wonderfully, cuts like a larger knife and is comfortable to hold and use. Plus this thing just looks good and still does after a year of carrying, useing and sharpening, Sure it has some scratches on the blade and some shiny spots on the scales but these just give it charcter and make it mine. I have really been inpressed with how well the coloring in the graphic holds up, a little windex every once in a while brings it back to life.

Before breaking down and buying this knife I swore I never would buy one because they were just to darn expensive for what you get but I kept looking at the stars and stripes model and it just kept growing on me. I liked the way the flag is done, it's there it's classy but not tacky. So I ended up buying it and it was all clear to me after carrying it... You get what you pay for and I payed for a CRK and got a winner.

Mind you all this is coming from a guy who has many knives to choose from in the knife store and many are nice knives but now I just look at them and compare them to my Sebbie and then go on.

So anyway thanks to all here at the CRK forum that helped me decide what to buy last year, I ended up with a winner....Now to decide on the next one and those of you thinking about getting one, quit thinking and go get it, you won't regret it.

Pic one: Still looks good, minor scratches on blade, has a fresh edge-pro edge on it.

Pic two: The worn with charcter look.

Glad you like it so much.

Next up perhaps a wood in-laid of some sort?

That's a great looking Sebbie. Congrats on the anniversary. Sounds like it's time for you to get another CRK folder. You can't let that poor knife grow up an only child. ;) ;)

Gotta love that, nice to see a knife stay in one family, since getting my new large wood inlay classic, I think she'll be sticking around a long time too!

Congrats on that!

I don't think I have ever sold one of my "knives" even if I don't like them I keep them in the collection, although I have given a few to my brother and one to a cousin who needed a knife badly and didnt have the $ to buy a decent one but I really am not that nice most of the time :)

BTW Gary being meaning to ask you a few ??? about some leather working equipment, a friend of mine is closing up his leather shop and there was a few things i was thinking of picking up. I'll have to PM you.

if that guy has some unique embossings and you don't want them, let me know as I'm always looking for new and unusal things like that.

Congrats on the anniversary. I've enjoyed my basic Large since 1998 and picked up a '99 Small box elder woodie early in '02 (Thanks G2 :)!). Both continue to see regular and enjoyable use :)

NGK - quite a great story about you and your Seb, especially in light of the selection of knives that your company stocks and offers for sale. There are many great custom and production knives out there, but there is just something about those sebbies.

I just picked up a great Curly Wood 2003 limited edition and the wood inlays really give it a nice heft. They are all great.

So, when are you getting a Mnandi?

Hi Bob Allman and fellow Sebenza Lovers.
How do I tie/braid a lanyard like the one on the small box elder above?
Thanks All,
Wali :D

That was my braided leather fob...on a knife that once was mine as well :(

To make one like that,
Soft leather, but into a strip just a little wider than the hole
Thread the leather through the hole
on one side, cut two slits, each slit about the width of the leather and spaced about half the width of the leather
Thread the other side through the first slit
Now, up close to where it comes through, cut two slits into that piece of leather
Thread the one side through the first slit of the one you just cut
Now back through the first one and then back through the last one to end up as shown.
