I was reviewing some old threads and cme across this one.

It's hard to believe that this month, three years have past by since the Bushfinger was made. I remember how impressed I was to see the infamous 'Original Bushfinger' posted by Andy for the first time. You guys know the picture. :)

Ever since that one, I knew that was a model I had to get my hands on. Personally, it took me two years until I managed to make a purchase for one. But it remains my most used blade to date. I have stroped it so much that the secondary edge is almost gone.

Just a few months ago, I got an 1/8" tapered tang version.

Mr Roy, congratulations. This model sure seems to be one of your most popular. The design is outstanding. I have bought other customs in the past, but eventually sold them from lack of use. But not so with my Fiddlebacks. The design, execution and customer service keeps me hanging around this forum.

:) Well done Andy, well done.

If you have pics of your bushfingers in use, post them up! (Erich, you have the largest collection I know of. Post up a group shot!)

I'm loving this thread, since I'm about to pull the trigger, so to speak, on a Bushfinger. It would be great to know the specs of the models show in photos...

The official specs from "the lineup" sticky.

"This is the Bushfinger. Its an evolution of the Ladyfinger, guardless, and without the sway in the spine. The knife measures 8.5" long and has a 4" drop point blade. This one is spalted 01 steel with a convex sabergrind. The handle is black linen micarta and natural canvas micarta. The pins are carbon fiber and natural linen micarta, and the bullseye liner is black carbon fiber. The bolsters overlap the scales at 18 degrees. On this one, by request of Mistwalker, I left some of the tang exposed at the rear for rough work. "

I bought mine last December. It's the 5/32" tapered tang version and it runs a little longer with a 4 1/8" blade, 4 3/4" handle, and 6.4 ounces without the lanyard.

My first Fiddleback was a Bushfinger. It started an addiction...

I still lust after most of the Bushfingers I make. And Dylan has owned and carried one as well. I'm making one this week that I really like a lot. Its like that every week. LOL.

How do you like the 1/8" tapered tang over the standard stock?

Hey Schmittie, man you went way back on this one.
This knife and Brian's initial review of it sealed the deal for me on the design. Three Bushfingers later, I'm still a big fan.

Hey Andy, sorry I didn't hang out long at Blade. I had limited time this year and there was lots to see. Not to mention, I feel like I'm impeading on your time and space. You always have a busy table. At any rate, good to chat with you briefly. Next year I'll make it a point to hit dinner with you guys. My wife seems to have monopolized my time in the past while we're in Atlanta.

Well, take care everyone. And again, congrats on such a great design!

I like it just fine. I had these images in my head if it being a much better slicer. But I have to admit, the biggest difference is just the weight. Both are outstanding.

Come on Erich. We know you're just getting started here. I, for one, would really like to see some pics of your Bushfinger collection.

(Please build a light box and turn off that flash too.)

I made one this week that I thought was off the charts. Went to a friend. The grinds on the 1/8" steel, the spalting on the 01, the handle shaping, the piece of Osage on this knife just kinda meshed. I was considering keeping it. I'm a sucker for Osage too.

Holy crap Erich! I was thinking you had 8 or 10. I was off by a few. I laughed so hard, I almost fell off the couch!

Outstanding collection! Thanks for sharing. :)
