Had a great time . I got to see lots of relatives I don,t see at other times . Great food and I let my arm be twisted into chopping firewood . Hmmmm swinging a blade ? Welllll O:K: . They even gave me beer for doing it .

Canadian Thanksgiving, that's right. Hope all our Canadian forumites had/have a great time. (I thought it was tomorow)

I wonder how much farther Fall has progressed there than in Montana? Trees still have some leaves.

It is tomorrow . My family celebrates it for the whole weekend . We are widespread and so keep together as long as we can .

Happy Thanksgiving and cheers to all our friends and neighbors up north. Haven't had any Canadian turkey, but I like Canadian bacon pretty good. :D

And a great weekend it was. A fine bird was eaten, along with pumpkin pies my youngest and I made together. We had truly gorgeous Fall weather, which allowed us to put the final coat of paint on two separate house reno projects that have consumed us all summer. Our rebuilt antique porch is good for the next 40 years - at which point it will be some other steward's turn to rip out and seamlessly replace the rotten wood.

And I even got some quality khuk time whacking branch trimmings from a godawful Chinese elm tree, pruned to allow a wonderful young maple (now flame coloured) room to spread. Another couple of years, and the elm will go entirely.

Lots to be thankful for. I hope the same is true for each of our other cantinistas.

Thanks for the good wishes neighbors, good turkeys had by all. Seems strange that Canadian Thanksgiving and American Thanksgiving are so far apart, it must be because there isnt much to be thankfull for up here by the time november rolls around (except for centeral heating). And happy Columbus day to our southern freinds a fine day to celebrate the guy who discovered the new world first, except for the vikings, basques, and chinese.

National Kill a Turkey Day went off without a hitch - had a friend over who was away from home. Turkey was eaten, electric cars were inspected, and fun in general was had.

Spent the turkey weekend in the bush. Fine weather, cool sunny days and just a bit of ice in the pail in the mornings. No turkey for the plate but the partridge made a great substitution, lots of partridge strutting around this year.
Today we are getting our first snow, that will help with the moose hunt in finding tracks. Hope you all had a good weekend.
